CASE STUDY

Furniture & Textile Upgrade

Customer Problem:

The customer wanted to minimize damage, especially during transportation of bedding products, and ensure perfect product delivery to the consumer. The transport, breaking and puncture strength of the packaging material had to be at optimum level.

Cost Improvement

Solution Stages:

1. Determination of Packaging Standards: MAT Packaging Solutions has determined the packaging standards by examining its customer's product range in detail. These standards were created by taking into account the product's dimensions, weight, features and transportation processes.

2. Determining the Optimum Thickness by Creating a New Formulation: The formulation of the packaging material has been reviewed so that the mattresses can be transported without damage. MAT Packaging Solutions has developed a new formulation and determined the optimum thickness suitable for easy transportation and tear and puncture resistance.

3. Strength Tests and Transport Simulations: Strength tests and transport simulations were carried out for the new formulation and the determined thickness. These tests were conducted to evaluate whether the packaging effectively protects the product.

4. Easy Transport Features in Packaging Design: Considering the easy transport features in packaging design and logistics processes; Handles are placed at strategic points to minimize potential damage that may occur during transportation.

Gains: The improvements made by MAT Packaging Solutions have enabled the customer to deliver bedding products to the consumer without any damage. Thanks to the new formulation and determined thickness, the packaging has high resistance to impacts and effects that may occur during transportation.
